First class pupils recently enjoyed a wonderful walk in nature. The children became nature detectives as they explored the outdoors with their eyes and ears wide open.
During our walk, we stopped quietly to listen to the different sounds around us. The children heard birds singing in the trees, leaves rustling in the wind, cows and calves mooing and even the crunch of footsteps on the path. Everyone enjoyed sharing the sounds they noticed and talking about how nature can sound different in each place we visit.
We also went on a wildflower hunt. The children searched carefully for different flowers growing nearby and were excited to discover so many beautiful colours and shapes. We used our findings to complete fact files about the wildflowers. The children learned the names of different flowers and where they grow.
It was a fantastic day of outdoor learning, teamwork and discovery. Well done to all our brilliant young explorers!
