Ms McNamara's Second Class

We have been learning about 2D shapes recently so we thought it would be a good idea to do some fun activities for Maths Week based on these shapes. We drew some robots using only the six 2D shapes we've been learning about and then we decided to create the same shapes using our bodies. It was so much fun!

We are so excited to be joining Picker Pals this year. We recently received a lovely pack with litter pickers, gloves and bin bags and we cannot wait to bring the pack home and do some litter picking in our local area. We have been on a Zoom call with the Picker Pals team and we learned all about how to pick up litter safely. There are lots of other activities we will be doing throughout the year so stay tuned for lots more news!

For the past few weeks we have been taking part in a series called 'Nutrition Is Our Mission' where we have been learning about healthy foods, the various food groups and foods that are important for those taking part in sports. It has been really interesting and we have learned lots of new information. 

We have been learning lots about autumn over the past few weeks. We went on a nature walk around the neighbourhood and found some lovely leaves and berries. We collected some of the interesting leaves and did leaf rubbings using autumnal colours.
