On the last Wednesday of each month we have Wellness Wednesday in our school. We do lots of nice activities such as mindful colouring, meditation and cosmic yoga. We wish every Wednesday could be like this!
We have been very busy in second class working on report writing. We were getting on so well that we decided it might be time to change from handwriting the reports to typing them. So we did research on the topic of the First Moon Landings and we then typed and printed our reports. It was great fun and an exciting new challenge.
We were so lucky that we got to see a real life tortoise in our classroom recently. The tortoise, whose name is Egg, loved coming to see our class and it was an amazing opportunity for the children to see and touch a creature that they might not have come across before.
Second class have been enjoying trying out some new moves recently as we have been learning how to skip, how to dance and how to perform some gymnastics routines. It has been a really enjoyable few weeks for everyone.
Recently in second class we have been learning about magnets. The children had lots of fun exploring in the classroom to find items that were magnetic.
All the children in second class recently completed the Let's Get Active challenge in association with the Irish Heart Foundation. The children had to keep track of their daily movement, both at home and at school. The goal was to be active for at least an hour a day. Everyone loved the challenge and we are so proud that we completed it.
